Another 5th wheel delivered onto Marjal Costa Blanca today. What about this for the MM slogan; "We take the strain, you enjoy Spain" (or France or Portugal)?

We were back in Mataró this week to collect the American Motorhome we delivered from France to Camping Barcelona and move it to the Marjal Costa Blanca campsite.

Terry Quantum 5th wheel move, Costa del Sol to Costa Blanca

A few days ago we collected another 5th wheel from camping La Bella Vista in Manilva and delivered it to Marjal Costa Blanca, near Catral.

There was a bit of a problem with the electric brakes and for anyone reading, you can't power the trailer brakes via the brake lights!! They need to be powered by a brake controller.A couple of hours later after chasing wires and trying to establish what had been done to the trailer, the brakes were connected to the integrated brake controller on the F350.

The only other issue were the indicators, which wouldn't work but as always, we carry a large trailer board that solved the problem.

We quite often encounter problems when collecting trailers. Please peeps, even if your trailers are on a pitch and not moving for a couple of years, maintenance of the running gear (brakes, tyres, bearings, electrics) is imperative and far more cost effective than spending several hours at moving time, making it roadworthy!

5th wheel repairs on the Costa Blanca, Spain

Coming back to the 5th wheel that lost a wheel and hub, the parts finally arrived from the States after what turned into a bit of a nightmare. The new hub, which was a special order part being the biggest culprit. We had to wait a while for it and then after it was eventually sent, it disappeared on it's way to our suppliers in the States and we had to wait for a second one.

We couldn't get a replacement alloy wheel or the body skirts in time, so had to go with the spare wheel and a bit of remaining damage.

There were some customs issues which were overcome, not without some difficulty but as a result, we are now registered, licensed and official importers in Spain.

This trailer had to be ready for today and this really was a no fail job!! In the nick of time, we pulled it off... Road tested, brakes adjusted, wheel nuts re-torqued and ready to go.

Boat towing and repair, Costa Blanca, Spain

We collected a boat from Torrevieja Marina. The starter motor bolts had sheared and unfortunately, a fairly straightforward repair, necessitated removal of the engine to get access to the bolts.....

RV delivery, France to Spain

Trains, planes and automobiles.... We were asked to drive an American Motorhome from the Dordogne in France to Barcelona, accompanied by the owners and two dogs. Thankfully, there was no John Candy in this episode and the most difficult part was the trains and planes.

Fair play to Spanish public transport and booking.com, all went smoothly. The RV delivery was a pleasure as the owners, Gareth and Amanda were lovely people as were their two greyhounds George and Blue.
Would like to say a big thanks to them for making the job a pleasure.
